Viewsonic NexTV VMP75 1080p Network Media Player - Stream Netflix Internet radios/videos & access to Twitter Facebook w/free HDMI cable
This is a terrific little unit that was easy to install (once we finally got around to it), simple to set-up and works exactly as advertised. We are using it on a 2nd set and also own the new Logitech Revue which I enjoy immensely but which costs quite a bit more than this unit.
The basics are much like what you would find on your television widgets (Internet enabled television) including music/radio, Netflix and some other preloads. View was excellent with little disruption using a HDMI cable to connect. Sound was suprisingly good.
Personally I found the browser interface a bit lacking especially compared to the revue keyboard but again, there is a big price difference so it is helpful to know how/what it will be used for when making a purchase decision. For those seeking a quick way to connect to Netflix for streaming movies etc, this will do the job well. I was disappointed that the Amazon Video on Demand was not preloaded...I like the service and have been using it quite a bit.
Another thing that was somewhat annoying was the lag time. It just seemed slow to respond. Yes, it may be just a couple of seconds but that "feels" like forever when waiting to see if something loads or not.
One other item worth mentionined is this is a MUCH quieter machine than the Revue. All in all, a great little player with a very affordable price!
