Lenmar DVDU923 Universal Li-Ion Battery for Select Portable DVD Players
This Lenmar Li-Ion 9v battery has more uses than just powering portable DVD players. Turns out many camcorders, especially mini-DVD and some miniDV camcorders use 8.4V DC input compatible with the provided connectors. The measured DC voltage fully charged and before connecting to the camera was just about 8.5V with the connector that was compatible with a Canon mini-DVD camcorder.
This battery easily fits in the front pocket of a typical pair of men's style slacks. So I was able to carry it and plug into a camcorder to boost the battery several times over a 2 hour period. 5 min charging like this gave me 15-20min more time on the camcorder. I could run it connected, but the cable isn't really long enough to do that comfortably. Got a 3' extension "power" cord compatible with the output cable to use as a supplemental power supply for camcorders.
Had this come with a longer cord and I could readily find more connectors, I would give it 5 stars! There is every reason Lenmar could have made this model available with a two position output with one of the positions set for "USB" compatible 5V.
