Venturer KLV39082 8-Inch Undercabinet Kitchen LCD TV/DVD Combo
The first one I received had a high pitched squeal when the unit was powered off, you could hear it within about 3 feet. Amazon replaced it with no questions asked! The second one has it also but NO where near the first one had. You have to be right next to it to hear it, very tolerable. The mounting hardware could be better, the spacers for the screws won't stay on when you're trying to mount the unit. I had to use some Scotch tape to hold them on the screws when installing the TV. The picture on the TV is pretty good for the size, after all, it is a kitchen TV. Even though it is suppose to be cable ready, you still need a box or converter hooked up to it to get a picture. Because of the problems with the first unit and the mounting I gave it 4 stars. Because of the one review with the screen that went out, I also purchased the Square Trade warranty. $30 for three years can't be beat!!

Sony VBD-MA1 DVDirect MA1 Multi-Function Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Recorder
Sony VBD-MA1 DVDirect MA1 Multi-Function Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Recorder
I've been waiting for a product like this for awhile.
-Burn to Blu-ray discs
-Great HD quality
-It's really simple to use
-Compact design
I bought this cause I have a HD camcorder and the built-in 120 gb hard drive has reached it's capacity. Now I can record and save my videos to blu-ray discs. Before this product, I had to burn to DVDs and that nullified the HD quality of my videos. I highly reccomend this product to anyone that wants to burn their HD videos to Blu-ray discs.

InFocus IN1503 Mobile Short-Throw Widescreen DLP Projectors, 4 lbs, WXGA, 3000 Lumens
The projector provides a fantastic looking image, does a great job auto-correcting keystone and is super convenient with the USB connection. You also can't beat the wider format for displaying from newer wide screen laptops.
For small rooms it's great because it can give you a 6 foot wide image from only a few feet away - BUT the negative tradeoff to that is that in larger spaces you still have to keep the projector very close to the wall or the image gets way too big. The unit would have been much more flexible if they had given it a broader zoom capability so that the unit could be placed where convenient and the size adjusted with the zoom. As is the zoom makes about a 20% change in size, which is a much smaller range than what I had with my prior Epson product. All in all, I would probably buy this unit again, but not before I looked around to see if there was a comparably priced unit with a much wider zoom range.

Sharp Aquos BDHP21U 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player
Sharp Aquos BDHP21U 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player
Great Blu-Ray Upconvert DVD player. Got the player and it was easy to set up. The picture is GREAT! Very Sharp and crisp. i really dont care about BD Live because i usually watch the movie and only somestimes watch the special features. Back as a usb input so you can update the software easily with a USB storage drive. Watching a regular DVD is also good. The player upconverts a dvd to almost blu-ray quality. If you are looking for a good Blu-ray player and dont really care about BD Live then this is for you.
My only gripe about this is that it may take a while to load.

SAMSUNG BP96-00674A COLOR WHEEL
SAMSUNG BP96-00674A COLOR WHEEL
The noise coming from my Samsung rear projection TV was a loud hum with a squeal underneath. I read some blogs and found the problem was the color wheel bearings go bad after a while. I have had this TV for 5 years. The order went smooth, the video installation instructions I found on youtube were spot on and the repair took less than an hour total. TV now works fine and the brightness and color are back to excellent.

I purcahsed this part to repair a Samsung HL-P4663W DPL TV that my friend gave me. The TV was making a humming noise and vibrating. These are classic symptoms of a bad colorwheel. The TV also had no picture and the lamp light was blinking on the front. The new part arrived on time and was well packaged and in perfect condition. I installed the new colorwheel using a You Tube instructional video to guild me. The old colorwheel was shattered. After replacing the colorwheel the television is working properly again and has an great picture.

Mitsubishi HC4000 HD DLP Projector
Mitsubishi HC4000 HD DLP Projector
I honestly don't think there is a better projector for the price. The HC4000 has received high marks from many projector websites and even the Hot Product Reward on projectorreviews.com
Just check out [...] for a very in depth review.
I went from a 720p Sharp projector to this 1080p Mitsubishi and it's such an improvement I couldn't even believe it. I'll add more photos and possibly a video in time.
Get this projector, you won't regret it !

RJ Tech RJ-4200 Karaoke + 2 Microphones Multi Region Code Free DVD Player 110 220 Volts PAL NTSC
i have had mine for over a year now and never had any of those problems. you just have to set up the unit correctly to play what you want. i did have a small problem with the audio on the dvd but after finding the correct setting then all was well. the karaoke part worked great as well and even read my own karaoke disks i made myself as well. the pitch control was perfect and did not hurt the song itself or speed. the echo effect worked well and it allowed for 2 microphones that came with it when i bought it. the tray for the disk worked great as well. if you read booklet it tells you not to set anything on top of this unit as it will effect the free motion it needs to eject and take in the disk. sitting something on top of this unit causes pressure on tray and when it tries to open it puts strain on the belt and will stretch it so soon the try will not close on it's own. if you read and do as it says and take care of it along with not sitting things on top of it. this unit is perfect in my opinion. the karaoke part works great as well as the dvd part and the picture is awesome too. the only thing i did not like about it was the microphones included. they work ok but i went and bought 2 shure pg58 mics which worked perfect for this device. so all in all i have to give this item 5 stars........... but i wish i could give 10.............. note people just need to read the directions all the way to set this up and it will work great. i found those who complain just lay the instructions down and then play with it. then when they find it will not work right it is the device and not them forgetting to really read the instructions. so as long as you read and do what it says you will have a great device to last you for a long time. mine still looks and works like new! still wish i could give it 10 stars LOL.

InFocus IN2114 Meeting Room DLP Projector, Network capable, 3D ready, XGA, 3000 Lumens
This wasn't a bad projector at first. Brightness and resolution was good, but longevity was not: It died after just under a month of service. We had an approval for a repair quickly, but since then the repair company has been jerking us around. It started with a repair estimate of 2 days, then 5, then 10, now it's been over a month and they actually told me that they had to manufacture the spare part in China in a one-off and ship it over here, which could take another 2-4 weeks. Replacement was out of the question; the best we got was an offer of a refurbished older model. At this point I've lost all trust and faith in Infocus company reliability, and will now be patronizing other brands in the future, especially after our InFocus IN1100 problems in the same time frame.
When it worked, I was happy with it. The menu was somewhat better and easier to navigate than our older projectors. The black level was excellent, and colors were extremely vivid relative to other projectors, but somewhat difficult to tune perfectly despite a powerful color correction control. Fortunately, in our main application we did not need perfect color. It is fairly quiet relative to others, but higher pitched. In a perfectly dark room, it would be easy to see the cool-looking controls, but I'm not sure that anyone using it in one would use anything but the remote control. The remote is ok, but it's compatible with Logitech Harmony for better home theater integration.
ECO mode may save lamp life but still uses the same power and puts out the same heat, this is not a cool projector by any means. I'd say the only thing missing was DisplayLink, except the Infocus implementation seems to corrupt any system that uses it on the 1100. The Wireless link requires an expensive proprietary adapter, and isn't compatible with wifi, so I didn't test it. I was ready to rate this projector much higher until the warranty problems showed up. Beware.

Coby TFDVD7379 7-Inch Portable DVD Player
Coby TFDVD7379 7-Inch Portable DVD Player
I am still experimenting with the player. It handles .avi files well - I have many older movies (Public Domain)and new ones. It did not play .mp4 files, and sometimes if I go fast forward and then play the sound stops in older movies. It can handle SDHC - secure digital high capacity cards. I tried a 16 GB card and it plays the movies fine. I did have to get a newer card reader that I installed on my desktop computer - regular SD goes up to 2 GB, I believe. I tried to plug in a set of USB speakers but no sound came out, but there was no discussion that it would work in the specs. I tried a few USB thumb drives and they play fine, and also an external hard drive in a USB case. The player has a button to push for the type of media - it lists DISC, USB, and CARD options, and you can select one at a time. As with my older player, the sound in some movies is not loud enough. However, there is a big range of sound levels in different movies.
(I have severe background noise where I use the player, so sometimes I use headphones or external speakers.) So I give it a thumbs up overall. I will just try to adjust my selection process - some sites give a choice of different formats and I will get the .avi files now if available. It does play the standard movie format VIDEO_TS usually found in rentals or purchased movies.
Issue 1) It automatically starts playing the first movie on the media - but I want to choose - I may have already seen it, or I want a shorter length movie due to my time limits,... I have to hit STOP on the remote to see the list of movies.
Issue 2) In the Setup menu, Misc - if the screen saver was ON, and I paused the movie, it seemed to mess up resuming it when I got back. I turned it OFF.
Issue 3) I have a Disc Resume option (ON/OFF) in Setup/Misc which is not shown in the manual. I did not see what that does so far.
Issue 4) Setup option for Audio Setup - Digital Out - RAW or PCM --- I didn't know what PCM stood for - it is pulse code modulation, preferred for DVD's.
So a general comment would be that a few extra lines of explanation might be really nice in some places.
I will try other formats, like .flv, .mpg, .mov and so on but it was stated as "DivX" compatible, and so far it does that OK.
Note - this was listed as model 7377 on the Amazon site but I actually have 7379.

Vizio VBR120 Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black)
Vizio VBR120 Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black)
This is my first blu-ray player, and first Vizio product. I have it connected to my Insignia 42" 1080p 120Hz LCD via HDMI. The TV runs the sound via optical cable back to an older Yamaha 5.1 channel receiver hooked to a pair of Martin Logan SL3's and Cinema center channel.
I'm on a limited budget for our entertainment system (except the speakers! I've had them a while) so while looking for a blu-ray I didn't want a lot of extras such as wi-fi, etc, but something that would upscale my old DVD's and of course play blu-ray's reliably.
First, the player looks great. It is much smaller than other player's I've seen. It looks more expensive that it is. One minor annoyance - for some reason the factory put a long strip of cardboardy type advertising along the top of the player. Not a big deal. But, it was put on with double stick tape that was VERY hard to get off. I had to work at it for several minutes and it left a little residue which I had to remove.
I've only played one regular DVD so I don't have much experience with the upscaling, but that one DVD was very acceptable. I have played several blu-ray discs, such as Avatar, Dark Knight, Casino Royale, Bucket List, and Wild China. Every DISC has loaded within 20 to 40 seconds, with the exception of Avatar which was rented and the DISC was very dirty. After a quick clean it loaded normally. I'm not a videophile, but I do appreciate a good picture, and I have not owned another player to compare against, so my only comments on the blu-ray format are WOW.
Another bonus with this player is the integrated applications. The interface is simple but very effective. You must connect the player to the internet through the hard wired connection (no wi-fi for $99!) and you'll have access to Netflix, VuDu, Pandora, Flickr, Facebook, etc. I connected to my Pandora account and had access to my stations - cool. You get two free movie rentals through VUDU for purchasing the player, I watched one movie and was very impressed. My home internet connection speed would only play the lowest resolution movies, but it looked great! A pleasant surprise.
My only real complaint about this player is the remote control. The buttons are VERY hard to press. For those who have a universal remote this will not be a problem as they will program it in and toss this aside.
For $99 at my local Walmart I am very pleased with this purchase and whole heartedly recommend this player, especially if it is your first player and you have a wired internet connection available (if you want to use the built in apps).

Directv Wb68 Dtv 6x8 Switch For Hd Antenna [wb68]
Directv Wb68 Dtv 6x8 Switch For Hd Antenna [wb68]
I had a DirecTV installer put one of these in. I have a HR21 HD DVR with the AM21 OTA tuner, a R16 SD MPEG2 DVR, and a R22 SD MPEG4 DVR. I needed a total of six lines (two for each DVR); I added the two SD DVRs.
Since they installed this, my signal strength on my HD box went up. Curiously, the R16 and R22 report a slightly higher signal strength (91% vs. 95%).
The installer mounted this on the outside wall of my house and I've had no problems with weather yet. Although all we've had is hot and hotter days! A few days though have had ash filled skies from forest fires yet the Zinwell still delivers a strong signal.

Zinwell Direct TV Wb68 Mutiswitch 6x8
My mom has DirecTV and has a dish with a dual LNB. She had decided to add some additional receivers and I was trying to figure out how to expand her system without having to install another dish in the yard. In my research I stumbled across this multi-switch. It was very easy to install. The connectors have rubber around them to get a good weather seal. This thing works great and no "ghosting" or ghost signals on any of the televisions at all. Well worth the money. No regrets.

Olens Technology XPJ Personal Entertainment Projector
Look out all you flat screens here comes the XPJ home entertainment projector.
Wow !! this thing can project a screen up to 70 inches wide.
It is amazing specially when you play games on it. Perfect for Games night!! Had all the friends over to play Wii and they loved the BIG screen.
Have my own theater in my house now to watch all those movies I missed in the theater. I think I will start a theater night to!!
A new lamp for the projector is about $30 BUT, hold on there is an extra one in the box for free.
Love this projector I think it is the best thing I have bought for X-mas entertainment. Will recommend the projector to the office for presentations.

Electroline EDA-2400 Four Port Cable TV HDTV Signal Booster/Amplifier (Retail Package)
Electroline EDA-2400 Four Port Cable TV HDTV Signal Booster/Amplifier (Retail Package)
I just put in an HD antenna system (got rid of cable finally - woot!), and I had some long coax runs from the rooftop down the the basement and half the length of the house. Also, I had splitting going to four different TV locations. So, I bought this preemptively and ran the coax into it after about 50' of coax run. It splits to the sets from that point, some sets are another 50' away.
VERY easy install; the easiest part of the whole system. One of the RF ports is actually for power - very slick. The power transformer for the power outlet plugs in, and then has a coax hookup. There is no power cord per se - you just cut coax to length and run it to this device from the transformer. Due to this approach you could run the power from inside to outside very easily. Then you connect the feed to the unit, and up to four coax lines coming out, and you're done. There are two holes if you'd like to secure this to a wall or joist with screws - hardware was not included. The TV farthest from this unit gets an excellent signal, that is after a 50' run from the roof to this unit in the basement, then another 45' or so along the ceiling to the TV. The signal strength for the stations on that TV are all at the top end; transmitters are about 8 miles away. See my other review to check which kind of antenna I used.
Overall, nice implementation of this kind of unit.

I replaced my Sony BDP-S560 with this new Pioneer Bluray player. The main reason was to match my new Pioneer VSX-1120-K receiver and it does so perfectly. I do like the button, drawer and display layout of the Pioneer over the Sony. As far as function, speed and performance goes, it is at least as good as if not better then the Sony especially in the speed (on, loading and shutoff) department. Hopefully, it will continue to work fine and last a long time. One thing it does not have that the Sony does have is built in wireless. However, Pioneer is supposed to come out with a wireless Lan adpater (hopefully wireles N and affordable, i.e. almost free) that plugs into the rear USB port. Still, for the money, the adapter should have been included with the unit (almost did not give it a four star rating because of this).

I've been looking for a well-featured Media Streamer for about a $100 for a while now and found this little gem at a local Fry's store (TX). Got it home, hooked up to one of my TVs and wired Ethernet and was glad to be able to stream all of my downloaded/converted video & music + stored photo I've got over the years from my local server (Acer Aspire H340). I've tried AVI, DivX, XviD, WMV, MOV, MKV, FLV (got a ton of these) - all played fine, no problems! :) Small Preview window on the right of the browser window can be turned off to speed up the search for a particular file. While everyone's talking about other well-known MSs this one is practically unknown to the public - undeservingly so! I'm glad I didn't go for the other ones - this one's got the features others don't have and the competitive price!

I was concerned that the low price was going to provide a bare bulb that would require dissasembly of the old housing and replacement of a bare bulb which is dicey at best (fingerprint can destroy bulb!)... This was complete, with directions, however, they don't tell you about the bulb housing door... if you don't get things lined up VERY carefully, it will not press on a button that indicates proper seal of this door, and TV will not work! Frustrating! Once properly sealed, all is well... My bad for not seeing the proper alignment of the door & button... Not a bad DIY job for anyone with a Sony rear projectio TV... easy fix! great service from this seller, quick delivery... Thanks!

100IN Diagonal Accuscreens HDtv Manual Wall Ceiling 49X87IN
Great product for the price. I had no problems with any aspect of this screen.
Picture quality is great. I will say it does have a relatively strong odor at first,
like a new shower curtain, but it dissapates after a few uses.
Excellent screen- using it for my home theater. I'm very satisfied with the quality and the price was great. It was shipped very quickly. The screen presents a very sharp picture even when the room is not totally dark. I definitely recommend this screen to others.

Audiovox DS9106 9-Inch LCD Swivel Display Portable DVD Player with Six Hour Playback (Black)
I was looking for a good portable DVD player for my mother and norrowed it down to the Audiovox or Sony.
The deciding factors came in when I compared Price for Features. I also asked other Audiovox owners and got really good reviews.
My main concern for mypurchase was that I wanted a reliabe product that cause me little over-the-phone-repair-tips conversations with my mom. Another was the DVD players ability to play ALL formats of dvd's. (personal copies included)
I have had previous problems with Sony in this respect.
So all in all this package, features, product is working out great and now an essential part to my mothers' day-2-day activities.
P.S. Regular Delivery was amazingly fast.

I bought this product because it works in the UK. I buy DVDs from the US because they are cheaper than in the UK and DVDs of series, e.g. Law and Order, are available in the US before they are in the UK. It was much easier (and cheaper)to buy this than have a DVD player in the UK converted to multi-region.
It is a fantastic little player and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want anything particularly sophisticated.

Vivitek H1080FD 1080p Home Theater Projector (White)
Vivitek H1080FD 1080p Home Theater Projector (White)
The bad: I'm not 100% sure but when I connected a component video cable to my previous projector, a mitsubishi hc1000 720p I did NOT get redish horizontal lines going through the viewed image. Nor did I occasionally get distorted skin tones. However, i did experience this with the Vivitek. Again, this is only with the component video cable. I happen to think that for viewing a digital cable box, its' better to use component. In any case an HDMI cable is fantastic especially for viewing Blu-Ray or HD DVD. This issue with rainbow effect, is not as slight as they make it out to me. Maybe I'm one of those people who is more sensitive to it. My wife said she sees it too but only when she makes an effort to see it, like quickly removing her eyes from the screen. Any way the effect is definintely there and I've already surpassed more than 50 hours of viewing but I would otherwise exchange it for a projector that does not have this effect.
The Good; Other than these "flaws" Just pop in a blu-ray, especially one of the newer movies and prepare to be awed ! Between the luminance, the resolution and the color, It truly makes for a satisfying viewing experiance. I watched the movie The public Enemies on blu ray and it was like, true home theater experience if not better than at the movies. The Roku movies (to long to explain what this is but for those who have it, you know what I mean) in HD also look fantastic, but again only the newer movies blow you away. Older movies that have been converted to HD somehow and do not make as good an impact. In summary, take away the fault when viewing through a component video, take away the dreaded rainbow effect, and take away the fan noise (it's not overwhelming but it is noticable, I have mine cealing mounted so that helps a bit) and focus on the HD or Blue ray viewed movies, and this projector is to die for.

I own two and they seem to work reasonably well. I have only experienced one glitch during operation that required stopping and restarting a movie. I have been using a PS3 and I never experienced a glitch like that.
I was a bit disappointed with the networking capability. It does not work with my TVersity server. It sees the files (both audio and video) but can't play any of them them. I hope that firmware updates allow for a wider range of file types. Still all in all I like the styling, small size, low power and is very quiet.

Tivax HiRez7-DS Docking Station for HiRez7 Widescreen 7-Inch Digital LCD TV (Black)
Tivax HiRez7-DS Docking Station for HiRez7 Widescreen 7-Inch Digital LCD TV (Black)
Recently purchased the TiVax HiRez7 Portable TV, the optional Antenna, Docking Station (herein), and even the TiVax Carrying Case to protect the TV while using it away from home. This review is about the Docking Station only, I have other things to say regarding the TV itself for another Review. This Docking Station is a "must have" item. Primarily because it is the ONLY way you can Power Your TiVax TV from a source OTHER than the TV's internal Batteries, external AC120/12vdc adapter, or a Vehicle 12vdc adapter. This Docking Station holds (8) eight AA Batteries to provide that extra source of power if all your other means of power are either gone, or not available. This Docking Station unit also "charges" the large squared NiMh Batteries that come with the TiVax TV when plugged into an AC adapter, or 12vdc Vehicle outlet.
So, now you have (8) AA Batteries, the (2) NiMh TV Batteries, and an Audio Cable that goes from the TV to the Docking Station which incorporates two (2) small Speakers on the front face L/R sides for an additional Stereo effect. When the TV is placed in the Docking Station, and you are getting power from the (8) AA Bateries, or the charging Squared NiMH Batteries inside the Docking Station, power is sent to the TV via another small cable that comes out of the Docking Station, and into the TV itself. All in all it is very versatile. Only one drawback... it is made rather cheaply. The "tabs/flanges" that lock the covers/doors for both types of Battery compartments are "paper thin". They do not allow the covers/doors to fit very tight, and they are so cheap that I ultimately expect them to break at some point.

Samsung BD-C6900 1080p 3D Blu-ray Disc Player W/ 5pc Hook Up Kit
The Samsung BD-C6900n player works great and has alot of nice features. The cables that come with it are really cheep. The HDMI cables do not work with 3d tv. The cleaner is the best, I bought other cleaner from Samsung and tryed many others. but the stuff in this kit works great. anyway back to the player.. I have family that have the same player and they have had no problems with it. I , like many of my family, watch about 2 or 3 movies a week. All the players still work great. I will update as soon as I see any Issue's
****I am just updating this review... 3D Blu Ray player still works great. I use it 4 or 5 nights a week. Still no problems.

InFocus IN2116 Meeting Room Widescreen DLP Projector, Network Capable, 3D ready, WXGA, 3000 Lumens
The IN2116 installed easily and booted up with great results right out of the box. We are using a pre-existing VGA cable for now and hope to upgrade to the HDMI cable soon to take advantage of the full capability of the projector. We will also have to be certain the computer is equipped with the hardware to send a quality HD signal. Getting familiar with the remote menu gobbles up some time. No user manual comes with the projector. I downloaded one online without any difficulty, and found the additional info most helpful. I checked out the projector at home before installation by plugging a flash card into the USB port. It booted up without having to push any buttons. The automatic keystoning immediately squared up the framing of the picture. Once installed it was necessary to turn off the auto keystoning to prevent it from periodically trying to tweak the framing. I was able to install in the same location as the previous projector and was able to frame the image to fit our 16:9 ration screen using the zoom adjustment. The projector has a 'boxy' look to it, but if you can live with that, you will have yourself a great video projector.
We also saved $1,000 or better by purchasing through Amazon.com. We received the projector in a timely fashion without incident.

Philips DVP3560 All Region 1080p HDMI Upconverting DVD Player
Philips DVP3560 All Region 1080p HDMI Upconverting DVD Player
I bought this last Fall to use with a new Plasma TV I'd set up for the bedroom. I haven't made the BluRay plunge yet, and I have a large library of DVDs and DVD-Rs that I'd made using a stand alone Toshiba DVD recorder. I am very pleased with the overall performance of this unit considering the super cheap price. It's a little noisy as it loads up and prepares to play the disc, but once the film begins there's no distractions. I was able to convert this unit to a multi-region player with a simple remote control code, which applied once seems to work for good (even if the unit has been unplugged) I'm sure any one with Google and the model number would have little trouble finding the code info. This player has had zero difficulty with anything I've put in it so far including some computer burned DVD + R discs that friends had given me and failed to work in any of my other players. I've had a great time adding Region 2 Pal discs to my collection via Amazon.UK and this player just treats them like every other disc I've put in it. It goes from disc type to disc type with no problem. For the price I can't really ask for much more. It's got cute features like the ability to create your own opening screen (the image you see when you turn the player on, before the disc loads) this can come from a pre-existing file imported from a flashdrive, or captured from the disc you're watching. Very happy with this product.

LG ALL MULTI REGION CODE ZONE FREE DVD RECORDER PLAYER VCR COMBO WITH DIGITAL ATSC TUNER and HDMI 1080p Upconverting [RC897t] (Remote Control Included Free HDMI Cable)
Once again LG comes out with a superior product. This combo recorder was a replacement for my analog unit, which still works fine. I just wanted to upgrade to HD with the 1080P upconversion capability. I tried several DVDs in this unit. The first was was the old Errol Flynn classic, "Robin Hood." OH MY GOD! I've watched this movie numerous times and I've never seen it like this. Some of the scenes were so crisp, it looked like 3D. Then I put in "Back to the Future II." Outstanding picture. But wait...there's more!
I record a couple of T.V. programs for the wife every week. They had a marathon one day, so I went through the day's episodes and there were several we had seen. I scheduled the times I wanted the recorder to record. There were gaps between the times and the recorder turns off after it's recorded the first episode. My old recorder would stay off and I would have to turn it back on. Not with the LG. That thing kept turning off, then back on to record the next time, then off, then on. It was fantastic! The other thing was my last machine would not record the entire 4 hrs. on the DVD in LP mode. It would stop 8 minutes short. Not the LG. That baby recorded every minute. FABULOUS.
Lastly, I just want to mention that I have NEVER opened the instruction manual. I'm no brain surgeon, but I figured it out quickly and with ease. Also, the remote automatically recognized my VIZIO T.V. and will control not only the recorder, but the T.V. too. I didn't have to do a thing.
I have been buying LG products for years for my computer. I have always been happy with their products. I took a chance with this combo recorder and I would recommend it to anyone. I guess the manufacturer realized they had a winner too, because after I bought mine, the price went up $50. GREAT machine!!

Toshiba XDE-600 1080P HDMI Up-Converting Region Free Multi-Format All Region Code Zone Free DVD Player
Toshiba XDE-600 1080P HDMI Up-Converting Region Free Multi-Format All Region Code Zone Free DVD Player
I bought this for my parents as they don't rent blu-ray and just need DVD and CD playing.
I'd say you CANNOT get a better DVD player to upscale to 1080P as good as this one. This DVD has been rated as good as Oppo higher end DVDs costing $300. The XDE processing is great and makes DVDs closer to Blu-ray and this is SPECIALLY important if your TV doesn't have great scaler on its own (lower end TVs).
The only issue I can find this this unit is that the chasis is CHEAPLY MADE and flimsy... which is fine for the price I guess.
So, overall if you need to get a budget DVD player and upscale your old DVDs or rentals to 1080P, this does the job as well as any if not the best out there!
PS. I also played DivX and AVI videos on it perfectly through USB which was great welcome.

Magnavox NB500MG1F Blu-Ray DVD Disc Player (Manufacturer Refurbished)
I understand there are a wide variety of opinions as to what people like in a good blu-ray player, and I've tried a few models, so I can understand both sides of the argument.
First of all when I upgraded to blu-ray in 2009, I wasn't looking for tons of bells and whistles, rather Just the movie in HD. If you've lived through the format wars HD DVD was just a player, with the ability to upgrade firmware over the internet. With blu-ray it started out as just a player, without having to worry about things like BD Live, internet streaming, etc. I've tried a couple profile 2.0 players with these features, and see disadvantages and advantages to each. Mainly my gripe with 2.0 players has been that, I don't use BDLive, and BDLive can often cause compatibility issues with disc playback, and depending on the player can cause a royal pain if you want the player connected to the network, but BDLive disabled. With this magnavox, it's a profile 1.1 player, no internet to worry about, no BDLive, yes, it means a disc is required to flash new firmware, but that's not a big deal. What I have found though, is when comparing this player with my 2.0 players is, New releases don't suffer the problems they do on this player, compared to what random issues can occur on a 2.0 player.
For example, I've had random discs, and features of discs, break on my 2.0 players. With this magnavox, it's rock solid without a flinch. True, it's a tad slower then you most current player, but, as a professional, I take stability over speed, It's nice if you can have speed, and stability together, but I haven't found that in blu-ray, even at it's current age. For someone who just wants a player, few hassles, and peace of mind that you're movies will play, I would strongly recommend this player. If your primary use for a blu-ray player is to stream internet content, I would look at a profile 2.0 player, or invest in separate set top boxes.
Features I like about this player:
Small, and compact
plays discs reliably.
Is no slower then a standard DVD Player. Plays standard DVDs very nicely, nothing to complain about.
Has solid firmware, the last update was about 6 months ago and all new releases i've thrown at it, have played without a hitch.
Is a quiet player.
In conclusion:
I would like to see more profile 1.1 players for sale on the market, so people aren't stuck with getting a internet ready player with a bunch of features they'll never use, who just want a player.

RCA DLNB2BOX LNB (Dual)
RCA DLNB2BOX LNB (Dual)
This was a replacement for my 16 year old LNB that suddenly stopped working.
This new one was an easy swap. It didn't require realigning the dish. It appears to be of better construction as it has no screws. A great product and well worth the small cost.
I needed a replacement for the original dual LNB on my dish.I couldn't find a new dual unit until I ran a search and found a Amazon sellar that carries reclaimed used parts. The unit was quickly shipped and was in excellent condition. I installed it and instantly my Direct TV receivers were working again.

Acer EY-JBU01-009 X1161P 3D-DLP Projector
this product would be AWESOME if only it had HDMI and audio out from HDMI. I liked the remote control which many people disliked. it was small, handy and useful for it's purpose. it made me feel like I was using a projector rather than a TV or something like that with big remote controller. the throw distance is bit long so having a short throw would be better. everything else is good. and the picture quality is awesome.

Samsung BD-C7500/XAA 1080p Wall-Mountable Wireless Blu-ray Disc Player
I bought this after reading the reviews and it sounded like a really good blu-ray player. It looks very good. I like the Netflix and blockbuster feature. No more trips to the DVD store or red box. I did not have any issues with watching the movie online. Everything flowed smoothly. The speed of your internet connection comes into play. The only issue I have had so far is trying to play a blu-Ray DVD of Avatar. I have the latest firmware on the device as that was the first thing I did. It will not play this particular movie but plays all my other blu-ray movies. Yet my Sony plays the same movie without any issues. I called Samsung support and they do not listen as they have to step through their trouble shooting steps. In the end the support person told me to fill out a form on their website as it needs to be repaired. I am perplexed that a new unit needs to be repaired. I was going to give it 4 stars but this issue has made me think twice. Overall the unit is good and has alot of features.
With Samsung support on the phone they walked me through doing a hard reset of the unit and now it plays the Avatar movie. No issues whatsoever. I had to give it 5 stars as all of the features are working properly and I have had a few more days to play around with it.

Optoma Neo-i / DV20 Portable iPod/iPhone Docking Station Video Projector with Built-In Speakers
I am a grad student in college and saw this product at a friends apartment a few weeks back. I purchased it and I think it has been my best purchase since my apple IPAD purchase. It is so trendy looking and works terrific in my dorm room to watch videos, show digital photos from my phone or i pad or even PSP3 with HDMI. It is a dock with unbelieveable sound and a projector all in one. It is so small I took it to a friends on Saturday and we used for karoate night/movie night too. Thanks OPTOMA for offering a product that fits so msny of my audiovisual needs. This product ROCKS! I have seen many sound docks out there but this is unigue it has great audio, projector with great image and so easy to use. For the price I am blown away with the image, sound and versality this product offers anyone with the apple dock, HDMI for my IPAD and many more connectors for sharing files/fun...you have to check it out....obviously I am very pleased with my AMAZON purchase of the OPTOMA DV-20.

Sling Adapter
Sling Adapter
I was first offered the Sling Adapter from our local Dish Network when we upgraded to an HD DVR. What I liked was that you can be anywhere around the world and via Internet, access your Dish Network DVR and watch a program anywhere. And I figured, why would I need this? The last thing I needed, was to be busy at work and then having the TV play on our cell phone, iPad or device.
But the reason why I purchased it was for the main purpose of giving my wife and child access to the DVR when I'm busing watching something on the main TV (movie, playing video games, etc.) So, now they can watch Dish Network on her laptop, computer or iPad. So, no more kicking me off the TV or vice versa.
I. THE SLING ADAPTER
The Sling Adapter is quite thin. It just sits on top of our DVR but it's a device as pictured...just plug it in to the back of your Dish Network DVR, connect to the Internet (I use a Logitech HD Powerline 200a, so one of the Powerline Adapters is connected to the router and the other one is connected to a wall socket that plugs into the Sling Adapter) and that's it.
II. HOW IT WORKS
You then go on Dishnetwork.com and log in and go to my account and then to DISH Remote Access. And you can access what's on your DVR, watch any program or schedule your DVR from your computer Laptop, iPhone or iPad. There is an app for iPhone and iPad. Very easy to use and lag depends on if you are doing many things on your computer. Note: Only one person can access the sling adapter at one time.
JUDGMENT CALL:
Aside from giving my wife and son another way to catch their shows when their father is hogging up the TV, I found it important during an emergency situation.
On March 10, 2011, the Sling Adapter had become so important in my life. On the day of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, while I was working and talking with a client from Japan late that night (afternoon, March 2011 in Japan), the earthquake hit and she had no idea what was going on and it was long. I was on Twitter and Japanese news trying to get updates of what was going on and I was able to access CNN from my iPad via the Sling Adapter and watching the US news, while utilizing my other work computers to watch the live Japanese news via Ustream.
The Sling Adapter was so useful as I was on the Internet working on the news of this disaster while watching both Japan and American news broadcasts. Although I was in the US at the time of the disaster, I realized, that if I was in Japan on business at the time and had access to the Internet, I could still watch the CNN broadcast or if you have NHK on your Dish Network service, I could have access that as well. Anything from Dish Network, I could access anywhere around the world from my iPad or iPhone through the use of my Dish Network service, DVR and Sling Adapter.
Also, I was recently at a relative's place who had Internet access but wished he had access to a sports game. No problem, I told him that I can access it using his Wi-Fi and then connecting to Dish Network on my iPad and sure enough, we were able to catch the game.
Another an example recently was when I traveled with family members. My father had to take a stop to a Ham Radio event and we were left in the car for which seemed like over an hour or maybe even two. Fortunately, where the event was located, there was free access to Wi-Fi and once again we were able to access Dish Network via the iPad through the Sling Adapter and tada...the kids had access to programming.
Overall, At first, I thought this device was something I would never use but now I realized how awesome this device is. It was more useful in our lives than I would have expected and I saw the importance of it especially during emergency situations.
It's only $99-$100+ and there is no extra cost from Dish Network to utilize this device.
I give this device my highest recommendation!
