Cinepal Personal Media Player 8IN HD 720P Videos Photos MP3

Cinepal Personal Media Player 8IN HD 720P Videos Photos MP3
I ordered this for my wife, who kind of has a hard time with the small screens on most media players. This, however, is like having a full HDTV in your hands.

Menu navigation is pretty self-explanatory, it plays a *wide* variety of video & audio file formats, and it is streamlined so if (like us) you don't want the bells and whistles of tablet PCs - you get superior quality sound and video for about half the price of a low-end Tablet/Android-powered knockoff.

This is a great player for all users, regardless of their tech-savviness.

1. The manual is sparse, but it really tells you all you need to know
2. SDHC expandable to 32GB!
3. Full HD resolution
4. Many options/preferences for adjusting display/audio settings depending on your media file
5. Charges only via wall charger, not USB, but that is what makes it *perfect* for trips where PC access is neither available nor convenient
6. Fits beautifully in any number of third-party eReader or Tablet PC padded cases
7. The built-in speaker is really weak, but earbuds are what you'll likely be using most and, if you've got good quality 'buds, you will have an awesome experience
8. Plug into your PC, it shows up as a removable drive; simply click and drag to copy files/folders over to the Cinepal (no complicated playlists or libraries to set up); unplug and start using
9. Perfect for the downloader/ripper in your family who wants to simply take portable media with him/her
10. About 4 hours power time, so maybe not good for the Traveling Couch Potato ;) - however, it's perfect for listening/watching in bed, on breaks at work, or whenever you want to tune out.
11. Plays everything we've loaded on it

My wife is brilliant and very PC-savvy, but just needed a no-nonsense media player with a zero learning curve to carry video and audio files around, without having to convert formats and file size. This far exceeded our expectations and I will get one for myself, now.

A hint: there is a button on the front labeled "M" (for Menu) - pressing it during playback brings up the onscreen options for adjusting settings and playback options (aspect ratio, track shuffle/repeat, etc). The manual doesn't mention this.

I'd recommend it for everyone from kids to the older members of the family.

The ONLY downside is that it only reads txt format ebooks. The manufacturer makes an awesome e-reader...if only they would port the ebook compatibility options over to the Cinepal!
