Coby TFDVD7751 7-Inch Tablet Portable Dual Screen DVD Player (Black)
This is my second Coby unit. Originally, I bought the single player and found that when taking my son's friends around town or on trips, I needed a second unit despite having only the one son.
Pro:
+ Battery works pretty well even when not plugged in or car is shut off
+ Plenty of volume
+ Hold switch within reach of the driver's seat
+ Head phones, remote, AC power (great for the hotel) and mount/case on the headrest
+ Very good screen color, sharpness, black is dark
+ Awesome extension cord - very long!! (the single screen model was too short)
+ Easy install: Wow, "that was easy!"
Con:
- Headrest mount is STILL AWFUL (just like the other Coby I own)
a) First, the Fastex clips that attach the hold to the headrest line up right behind your head - uncomfortable!
b) When inserting the player into the case, it's not uncommon for switches, like volume, on/off, hold to snag and change position - aggravating!
c) Often the unit won't sit flat on the bottom of the holder; it really fights me sometimes, making access to buttons hard as openings no longer line up as they should - annoying!
d) DVDs cannot be changed without removing the player from the holder - inconvenient!
Neutral (but good to know):
> The player half of this DVD system is almost the exact same as the Coby TFDVD7051 7-Inch Portable Tablet Style DVD/CD/MP3 Player, Silver (only color is different?). So, if you have problems you don't need to replace with a dual unit, buy a single screen model.
Bottom line: Highly recommended despite usability problems as a result of swithces and headrest holder. This is my second Coby DVD player for the car and I (and my son) really like it.
