Toshiba SD4300 Progresive Scan DVD Player (Black)

Toshiba SD4300 Progresive Scan DVD Player (Black)
I had been looking for a new basic DVD player for some time. I was close to buying a Sony at Wally Mart for about the same price locally but in many customer forums/reviews many folks had the same/similiar problems with it. I own several other Toshiba products and when I saw this on Amazon for less than $30 to my door I thought I'd give it a shot. I haved it hooked up to an older 480-ish TV [20"] the picture is amazing. It was super simple to set up and program. The remote is a nice small but a highly functional unit with many features. The unit itself is a relatively small size but feels well built and is molded in attractive plastic that gives it an upscale look. I have only had it connected for a few days so I will keep you posted as it gets used. One gripe, is well actually a gripe with all DVD players I have looked at. I have looked at $18 cheapos up through $300 blu-ray units and they ALL seem to have flimsy disc trays. I recently bought a Denon that has the same issue... I can't imagine these trays taking much is ANY abuse w/o breaking. Being that this type of product like most other electronic products it's a glorfied toaster, meaning that unless it is under warranty if/when it fails it is not worth fixing. If this unit holds up like I hope I will definitely buy another one when the need arises.
