Pioneer DV 610AV-K - DVD player - upscaling - black
There isn't a lot of good information for those of us who want to use our home theatre in conjunction with DVD Audio and/or SACD for surround sound audio only applications. After much research I settled on the Pioneer DV-610AV-K because it could output both DVD Audio and SACD in 5.1 via HDMI and the price was just too low to believe. Lo and behold...it actually does what it says. It works properly with my recently purchased Denon receiver (HDMI 1.3 compatible) to function as a 5.1 surround sound music system. I don't care about the DVD function because, frankly, I am a Blu-Ray junkie. However, listening to Dark Side of the Moon last night in surround sound was very enjoyable. It was exciting to hear it reimagined with the instruments spread across five, rather than two speakers.
Anyway, it worked with my receiver and does what it says. For $100 it was a great deal.
