Pioneer Dv-420vk ALL Multi Region Code Zone Free DVD Player with Hdmi 1080p Upconverting and USB Input (Remote control included)
The machine as delivered was a bit of a mystery. It had one designation indicating a multi-region on the outer box and another on the machine which stated it was the multi-format model. The manual/user guide was for the latter. I tried to get some clarification from
Amazon and the vendor but none was forthcoming. So, I just plugged it in. The machine has handled everything I have put in it, be it
region 1,2 or whatever ... and it automatically shifts from US to European standards on the fly with no user intervention. I have run
over 300 DVDs from the US & UK so far without a hitch. In fact, it has played DVD's that I had problems with using other machines. To sum
it up, this machine is both Multi-Format & Multi region. It plays everything but Bluray Disks and to be honest, the picture it gets from
a std DVD, for my eyes at least, is as good as the Bluray. I say this also having a Sony BlurRay, which I might add is now gathering dust.
