I bought this product for my grandchild at Christmas. I tested it before wrapping and it all worked fine. After opening on Christmas my granson who is seven was able to operate it with no trouble. It was moved to his room and plugged into the wall outlet.( I have no battery usage info.) It is one of his most favorite gifts and has been in use every day since with no problems. I posted a review of this same item for my granddaughter who is four also.
I bought one for each child.(No fighting over one unit!) I was really amazed the the screen quality was so good. It is only 7" but very sharp. Very pleased with both units. Parents were pleased too, no arguing over watching Barbie vs Star Wars.
