Are you still reading reviews? I've been reading them for years. It's been a few years in the waiting for me. Epson 8700UB vs. Panny AE4000 vs Epson 8350.
After the 8350 came out the choice was a lot easier. I was set to spend $2500 for either the AE4000 or the 8700UB but the 8350 gave me push. I got the unit for $1200. That's $800 less than the 8700UB or the AE4000 at the current pricing. The demo's on YOUTUBE made the choice easier as well. There just isn't enough difference for me personally in having the Ultra Black, the anamorphic lens (more $$$ + $sled), 4:2 pull down. The 8350 is fantastic. For the $800 less I can almost buy 2.
It does really well in a lamp light room. There are no windows in my media room, just two french doors that let some daylight in during the day. It still bright during the day and I am very pleased. So keep reading or take the plunge you wont regret this one.
